This versatile clay body has a wide firing range, making it suitable for both earthenware (1080°C – 1120°C) and stoneware (1220°C – 1250°C) firings. At lower temperatures, it offers a warm cream tone ideal for decoration or coloured glazes. When fired at higher temperatures in oxidation or reduction, it maintains good glaze response, with subtle speckling appearing in reduction. KGM throws and turns exceptionally well, is suitable for all handbuilding techniques, and performs well as a slip casting body.
