Service Description
With one-to-one guidance, you'll receive focused support, learn at your own pace, and develop your pottery skills with confidence. 🗓 Held for 6 consecutive weeks. Choose the first day and then we can arrange the others on your first visit. Week 1: Introduction to Wheel Throwing Kick off your sessions with an immersive introduction: Learn how to prepare clay, centre it, open it, and pull up walls on the wheel Hands-on demonstrations and personalised tuition ensure a strong foundation Plenty of practice time included. Week 2: Mastering the Cylinder Refine your core throwing technique: Focus on centering and creating a basic cylinder—essential for nearly all vessel forms One-to-one coaching helps you correct form and build confidence Week 3: Trimming and Refining Time to clean up and shape your creations: Learn to trim your pots using various tools Tidy and refine the bases with guidance tailored to your pieces Week 4: Independent Making Bring your creativity to life: Use your session to work on your own designs With your instructor’s full attention, you’ll explore new shapes and techniques Week 5: Final Making & Details Last making session: Refine, trim, and add final features like handles or decorative details Your instructor will ensure all work is glaze-ready Week 6: Glazing Day Add colour and character to your work: Learn glazing techniques and apply your chosen finishes Your glazed pots will be fired and ready for collection two weeks later Clay Allowance 1 full 12kg bag of clay per person for the duration of the course 4 to 6 balls of clay provided in each session Collection Information Finished pieces will be ready for pickup two weeks after the final day We will hold your pots for one additional month Due to limited studio space, uncollected work cannot be stored beyond this period Perfect For: 🎁 Unique gift experiences 💑 Memorable days 🎨 Beginner-friendly 1:1 art classes 🌀 Wheel-throwing experiences in Southampton 🎉 Relaxed creative days just for you 🌿 A mindful and hands-on artistic journey
Cancellation Policy
Please book your first session to get started — we’ll then arrange dates and times for the remaining 5 sessions together on your first day. We kindly ask that you arrive on time for your appointments and give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. Without notice, we won’t be able to reschedule and your time may be lost — thank you for understanding! Your 5 sessions are valid for 60 days from the date of your first booking. Extensions beyond this period will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.
