Market Days at the United Reformed Church
Every Wednesday, I set up my market stall at the United Reformed Church in Lymington. It's a lovely little market, tucked around the back of the church. While this hidden location means the footfall isn't as high as we'd like, the atmosphere more than makes up for it.
One of the best parts of doing the market is the other stallholders—they’re such a friendly, supportive bunch, and always full of fun. In fact, one of them is even hosting a get-together at her house soon to celebrate the sense of community we’ve built. It really does feel like a little market family.
Despite the lower customer traffic, I still manage to sell a fair amount of my ceramics—often to my fellow stallholders! They start browsing my pieces the moment I arrive, sometimes even before I’ve finished setting up. Their enthusiasm is such a boost, and I have to say, I return the favour. I love picking up goodies from their stalls too. Cherry Tree Preserves always tempts me with their delicious jams, pickles, and honey.

We do hand out flyers to help draw in more customers, but it’s an uphill battle. Still, the joy of sharing my work and being part of this warm, cheerful little market keeps me coming back each week.
